Successfully integrated a non-profit cancer treatment center into the political arena.
We were able to plan and execute a strategy to bring a well-established medical facility into the legislative process, which resulted in a number of benefits for the institution and its patients.
A leading cancer treatment and research center had never participated in the legislative environment at any time during their 35-plus years in Baton Rouge. We were not only successful in integrating that entity into the legislative process but also an environment of severely decreased state revenues. This allowed us to pass a sales tax exemption for all purchases of capital equipment, as well as the cost of servicing that equipment, obtained by the facility.
